Course Information: Introduction to UNIX  (23769)

An introduction to UNIX operating system, which will provide a convenient and consistent interface to the wide variety of peripheral devices that are connected to the computer. Students learn history and fundamentals of SUN operating System, by entering commands using shell, the UNIX file systems; text file utilities. VI editor, Shell scripts, AWK (Aho, Weingerger, Kernighan) programming language, and Local Area Networking Utilities. Prerequisite: CSCI 1301
