Advanced Screenwriting Seminar

An advanced course in screenwriting with an intersive emphasis on the craft of screenwriting. Students will explore and deconstruct conventions of American and foreign film and engage in writing exercises that will help create their own script while building their writing skills. Students will acquire detailed instruction in story structure, dialogue, character development and cinematic methods. By the end of the course each student will have produced a complete, polished original screenplay. Prerequisite: THEA 4105 or permission of instructor with writing sample
