This course introduces students to the skills necessary to report and write in small-market digital media because most journalists begin their careers in small markets. This course addresses the issues a small-town newspaper journalist, editor, or publisher is likely to face, including why community journalism is important, how to report and write for smaller communities, design, production, photo/video journalism, social media, changing demographics and best practices for small digital/print news media.
