Course Information: Emergent Literacy - Child Lit  (80981)

This course explores the intersection of emergent literacy development and children’s literature, focusing on how literature can be effectively used to support young children’s language, literacy, and cognitive development. Through critical analysis of various genres of children’s literature, students will examine strategies for fostering emergent literacy skills, such as phonological awareness, vocabulary development, and comprehension, in diverse educational settings. Emphasis will be placed on selecting and integrating high-quality children’s literature into early childhood curriculum and instruction.
