In this course we will treat the mind as a) a function of the nervous system and b) a product of evolution. The first half of the course will introduce the basics of neuroscience. The second half of the course will examine the neural basis and evolutionary background of cognition, learning, and memory. Lastly, we will discuss the biological basis of society and language.
