Prac Teach Sec School Math

The course will examine the strategies that can be used to create an effective 21st Century learning environment. The goal is to equip the students with certain core competencies such as collaboration, digital literacy, critical thinking, and problem solving. The course will also examine strategies and skills to engage creatively mathematics students and master teaching and assessment techniques appropriate for the implementation of the current math state standards. There are 120 field experience hours in this course. The course cannot be passed without completion of the field experience hours. Verification of professional liability insurance and a clear criminal background check are required prior to receiving a school placement. The e-portfolio is required for all education courses. Pre- requisites: Admission to Teacher Education and completion of all 3000 level education courses. This course must be taken concurrently with MAED 4416.
