Course Information: Gerontology Policy & Practice  (22460)

The course, Gerontology Policy and Practice, is an elective course of the MSW Program. It provides the Generalist Social Worker with the biopsychosocial, cultural and spiritual dimensions of aging. The course will attempt to identify factors that contribute to successful aging. According to the Council of Social Work Education National Center for Gerontological Social Work Education, demographic changes are transforming virtually all aspects of our society and providing challenges and opportunities for social workers, the public, and policy makers.
