Course Information: Advanced GIS  (22501)

This course looks to take advantage of urban data and technological innovations to tackle some of the fundamental problems facing the urbanized world. Beyond instruction in urban data science and analytics, students will be introduced to theory and critical discourses on topics such as big data, open data and e-governance with a special focus on future smart cities. With big data from the built, natural and human environments, students and faculty will develop more robust predictive models and use those models for evidence-informed smart planning, policy-making governance.
