Course Information: Field Practicum I: Orint Semin  (80247)

This course is the first of the Field Education sequence of courses for the MSW Program. It focuses on the development and application of generalist practice skills. Emphasis is given to professional attributes and skills that are applied in field education settings (i.e., professional and ethical behavior, understanding of a variety of social work roles associated with generalist practice, effective communication skills with clients and colleagues, managing personal bias, reconciling personal and professional values, and identifying the impact of personal experiences with privilege, power and oppression on development as a professional social worker). Students will receive 100 clock hours toward the required 400 foundation field practicum hours.
